To reset the ECU of the Mercedes E-Class W211, insert the key into the ignition; turn the key to the "on" position (the position just before starting the engine), various devices should light up; press the accelerator all the way down and hold it for at least 5 seconds; turn off the vehicle and remove the key; after removing the key, release the foot from the pedal; wait at least 2 minutes before restarting the car so that the ECU has time to reset all its parameters; start the vehicle, let it idle for a few minutes, then take it for a varied drive; do some city/highway driving so that over time, the car adapts to your driving style and adjusts performance, throttle response, etc.; this procedure clears that memory and the car starts learning again.
