How to reset the airbag light in the Mercedes C-Class?

The airbag light that appears on the instrument panel of the Mercedes C-Class indicates that one of the components contributing to the system's operation is damaged: this could be a crash sensor, the fuse, or some wiring. Repairing the damaged part will likely leave the error stored in the control unit, causing the light to remain on: to reset it, simply connect a diagnostic tool to the OBD port. This port is located at the bottom left of the steering column: using the diagnostic tool, you can clear the error to make the light go off.
