How to replace the top part of the gear knob on a Mini R56

Model: Mini Mini R56, R57, R55 - Years 2007-2014
Part: Shift knob

In this video we will see how it is possible to change not the entire gear knob, but only the upper part, which is like a sort of metal crown cap, which can be replaced in order to renew it with minimal expense. The obvious advantage is that you do not have to disassemble the rod, remove the cover and then replace the entire piece. The suggestion given by the youtuber is to find the knob from a demolisher, and remove the chrome part by levering on the four sides, both on the donor cap and on the one we intend to change. We will have to be careful when reassembling the frame, so that the figure is positioned exactly like the one we removed.

Remove the Front Door Panel on Mercedes C

Remove the front door panel on Mercedes C to access the window switch assembly. Disconnect the battery terminals in the engine compartment. Use a screwdriver to remove the screws located in the upper lever opening area and the screws in the handle (after removing the plastic screw covers). Remove the trim near the lock, unscrew any remaining screws on the door panel, and detach the retaining clips. Finally, pull off the panel and disconnect it from the door (unplug the power harness and the opening cable). Unscrew or detach the retaining clips of the window switch assembly.
