Mini - Video tutorial
Model: Mini Mini
R50, R52, R53
- Years 2001-2007 The radiator for cooling the engine liquid is equipped with a cooling fan. While the car is running, the cooling takes place due to the flow of air that passes through it but during stops this flow of air is lost, so the fan intervenes which generates a flow of air and cools the radiator. The fan is normally activated by a thermostat placed on the radiator or coolant delivery pipe. With a common tester placed on the hommetric flow rate, it is possible to check the correct functioning of the thermostat. By placing the test leads on the thermostat contacts, we check the regular trend. When the engine is cold the instrument must not indicate any resistance, while when the liquid heats up above 90 ° C the instrument must indicate 0 ohm. Different indications recommend replacing the thermostat immediately.
