Is the battery in your Mini key flat? Here’s how to disassemble the car key and change the battery. Take your ignition key and use a screwdriver to pry between the two plastic halves until the rear plastic separates: remove the flat battery with a screwdriver and replace it with a new one. Reassemble the two parts of the key fob cover until you hear them click into place. Check the key fob functions by testing the door lock and unlock buttons. Replace the flat battery with one of the same size and voltage.
