How do you remove the stereo from a Mini Cooper? Let's look at the disassembly and reassembly of the stereo. Open the passenger side dashboard, unscrew the securing screws on the side to remove the stereo. Once you have finished unscrewing the screws, remove the plastic cover on the opposite side of the glove compartment. Unscrew the securing screws again: take the stereo out from the dashboard plastics. After extracting the stereo, disconnect the electrical connectors. Replace the stereo with one of the same size or install a suitable fascia for a 2 DIN unit.
