How to Remove the Steering Wheel from a Mini Cooper

Before you can start, disconnect the battery, then sit in the driver's seat of your Mini Cooper. Begin by unscrewing and removing the Torx screws that secure the airbag to the steering wheel. Next, extract the airbag and disconnect the relevant electrical connector. This will give you access to the central nut that secures the steering wheel to the steering column, which you will need to unscrew and remove. At this point, slide the steering wheel off the steering column, then disconnect the relevant electrical connectors, and you will have completed the removal.
