How to remove the steering wheel airbag of a Mini Cooper

Model: Mini Mini R52, R50, R53 - Years 2001-2007
Part: Airbag

Before we are able to start, we will have to disconnect the battery of our Mini Cooper, so as to work safely. We start by sitting in the driver's seat. After that, we will have to unscrew and remove the rear screws that secure the airbag to the steering wheel, turning the steering wheel first on one side and then on the other. By doing so, we will have released the airbag itself. At this point, we will have to disconnect the electrical connector connected to the airbag, and then remove it from the steering wheel. When we have extracted the airbag from the steering wheel of our Mini Cooper, we will have correctly completed its disassembly.

How to Remove the Gear Knob on a Renault Scenic

Want to replace the gear knob on a Scenic? Let’s see how to do it in this video. First, detach the leather gaiter cover from the edge of the centre console. Use a plastic spatula to remove the cap indicating the gear numbers. Grip the knob and twist it until it comes off the shaft. Disconnect the knob from the gaiter, fit a new one onto the gaiter (if the gaiter is damaged, replace it with a new one) and attach it to the metal shaft. Finally, secure the connectors of the leather gaiter onto the centre console.
