Operation: Installing a cold air intake in the engine

This tutorial shows how to install a cold air intake in the engine compartment of a Mini Cooper R53. In the first part of the video we deal with the removal of the original equipment. First you have to lift the shield of the air box and unscrew the screws that secure the air tube. Once the box has been removed, remove the filter. Lift and remove the two covers on the suction tube and release the connections. Remove the mouthpiece and remove the rest of the air box from the engine compartment. In the second stage of the video, the new air intake box is prepared. The latter is carefully fixed to a wall of the box by means of locking screws and support brackets. In the third stage of the video, the assembly is inserted into the engine compartment in place of the old one, fixed with screws and connected to the intake pipe. Once the clamps are tightened, the connections are re-established and the covers repositioned. Once the new filter is put on, the box is covered by a protective plexiglass plate.
