How to replace the chain tensioner of the Mini Cooper S R56.

Model: Mini Mini R56, R57, R55 - Years 2007-2014
Part: Checks and maintenance

In this video, we can see how to replace the timing chain tensioner of the Mini Cooper S R53. The procedure is quite simple. In order to replace the tensioner, after opening the hood and securing it, you need to use a 27-millimeter wrench to remove the metal clips that hold the pipes in place. Then, you need to use a screwdriver as shown in the video to remove the quick release and be able to remove the pipes to access the tensioner. At this point, you just need to remove the old tensioner, replace it with the new one, and then close everything by reinserting the metal clips and tightening them with a torque of 50 nm.
