How to Replace the Timing Chain on a Mini Cooper?

To replace the timing chain on a Mini Cooper, you need to remove some obstructing components in the engine bay: it will be necessary to loosen the bolts securing the oil sump at the bottom and those securing the valve cover at the top. Then, remove the front right wheel, the corresponding wheel arch liner, and the side panel of the engine block: this will make the chain visible and allow it to be removed by sliding out the corresponding tensioner. By doing this, its tension will be reduced, and it will be possible to remove it and replace it with a new one.
