In this video, see how to replace the chain tensioner on the Mini Cooper S R53. The procedure is quite simple. To replace the tensioner, open the bonnet and secure it, then use a 27mm spanner to remove the metal clips that secure the pipes. Next, use a screwdriver as shown in the video to remove the quick release and access the tensioner. At this point, simply remove the old tensioner, replace it with the new one, and then close everything by reinserting the metal clips and tightening them with a torque of 50 Nm.
