Detailed instructions - In this video tutorial, you can see the procedure to replace the air filter in a Mini Cooper D R56. The air filter should be replaced every 12,000-15,500 miles; if you drive on dirty roads daily, such as in the countryside, it is important to replace it sooner. Lift the bonnet and secure it with the prop rod. First, remove the engine cover grille. Use a flathead or Phillips screwdriver to unscrew the fasteners of the cover of the box. Once the screws are removed, lift the cover and extract the old filter element from its housing. Clean the housing and the cover, taking care not to let dirt enter the combustion system. Install the new filter element in place and reassemble all parts in reverse order.
