This is a common myth, but the shaft does require maintenance. It is true that it requires much less than a traditional chain drive, but it is not "maintenance-free". The shaft, being protected by covers, does not get as dirty as a chain and does not require tension adjustments. However, its weak point is the lubricant. Inside the shaft, there is oil that needs to be replaced at regular intervals. Manufacturers like Yamaha often recommend a change every 12,500 miles. For bikes like Moto Guzzi, the interval can be longer, up to 31,000 miles. Engine oil is not used. Generally, a very thick gear oil, such as SAE 85W-140, is used. It is essential to use the type of oil specified by the manufacturer to avoid damaging internal components. Historically, shafts were considered "lifetime" components. However, manufacturers like BMW, starting with recent models (such as the R1300GS), have begun to treat the entire driveshaft as a wear item to be replaced at set intervals, for example, every 50,000 miles.

In order to adjust the headlights of the Kymco Xciting S 400i, you need to completely remove the panel that is located under the front headlight and on the top of the front fork.
