Nissan Micra - Video tutorial

Model: Nissan Micra K11 - Years 1992-2002
Part: Drums and shoes
Operation: Replacement of rear jaws

Raise the car on suitable car stands and remove the rear wheel; with a few blows of the hammer, extract the drum from the hub and, in the same way, remove the protective cap from the nut fixing the hub itself. At this point unscrew the nut and extract the hub. Clean the jaws and the drum with compressed air and disassemble the jaws by removing the centering pins and the springs; the latter must be applied to the new jaws. Then house the new ones in their seat by hooking the handbrake cable and inserting the centering pins for fixing. Then reassemble the hub, carefully tighten the fixing nut, adjust the opening of the jaws through the appropriate screw and reassemble the drum making sure that it rotates freely. Tap the nut back with a chisel to prevent it from accidentally unscrewing and refit the cap and wheel.
