The tailgate of your car feels light if the struts are in good condition, but with faulty struts, you'll feel the real weight of the tailgate (very heavy). Follow this guide to resolve the loss of strength in the struts on an Opel Zafira tailgate. Lift the tailgate and secure it. Use a screwdriver to remove the retaining clips at both ends of the strut. Detach the worn strut and fit the new part in both sockets. Secure the strut with the metal clips. Repeat the same process for the removal/installation of the other strut.
