The procedure for replacing the timing belt of the Opel Astra involves lifting the car with a jack or a lift, so that the right front wheel is not in contact with the ground: once the car has been lifted, it will be possible to proceed by loosening the screws that fix the right front wheel and the corresponding wheel arch. In this way, it will be possible to loosen the central nut of the belt tensioner roller and thus reduce the tension of the timing belt: the new one can be inserted and tensioned again, checking that everything is functioning properly.
