The procedure for replacing the timing belt on an Opel Astra involves lifting the car with a jack or ramp, ensuring the front right wheel is off the ground: once the car is lifted, loosen the bolts securing the front right wheel and the corresponding wheel arch.

This will allow you to loosen the central nut of the tensioner pulley, thereby reducing the tension on the timing belt: the new belt can then be fitted and tensioned, ensuring everything is functioning correctly.
