The operation of replacing the timing chain on the Opel Astra is carried out by lifting the car, ensuring that the front right wheel is not in contact with the ground: this can be removed from its seat by loosening the bolts that fix it and also removing the corresponding wheel arch. This will allow access to the chain tensioner: by unscrewing the screws that fix it, the tensioner can be completely removed and thus reduce the tension of the belt. The belt can now be removed from its seat and replaced with a new spare part.
