Video tutorial

In this video, we will see how we can replace the battery of an Opel Mokka A: first of all, we need to remove the mounting bracket that holds the battery in place. We remove the two screws on the sides and remove the metal bar, then disconnect the negative pole, then the positive one, and finally remove the battery from its housing.

After repositioning it, it is advisable to perform a reset of the electronic system to avoid malfunctions. There is also a basic method, without tools, that we can suggest.

After installing the new battery, turn on the ignition and leave the vehicle in ignition (meaning without starting the engine) for about ten minutes: this allows the control units to readjust. Then restart the engine and make sure there are no warning lights on. Instead, it is absolutely necessary to reset with the tool if the new battery is of a different technology (i.e. from normal to AGM), or if warning lights such as ABS, ETC, or power steering appear, and if the car has Start & Stop. In this case, we will follow the youtuber's instructions.
