What does it mean if the coolant in the Opel Corsa has started to boil?

If we see the situation in the video regarding our Opel Corsa D (boiling coolant), then we are in trouble because a serious failure in the cooling system is occurring, which can lead to engine seizure and cause extremely costly damage. The main causes can vary. Firstly, a thermostat stuck in the closed position: this component should open when the engine is hot to allow coolant to circulate through the radiator and cool it; if it remains closed, the coolant stagnates in the engine, overheats, and boils. But the reason could also be a faulty water pump, or the coolant level is low and cannot absorb heat; the radiator fan is not spinning, or the radiator is clogged or dirty. However, the most serious cause is a problem with the head gasket: combustion gases from the combustion chamber enter the cooling circuit through the burnt gasket, causing overheating with violent boiling, accompanied by thick white smoke from the exhaust. In any case, we must stop immediately, turn off the engine, DO NOT open the radiator cap or expansion tank, and call a tow truck right away.
