Here are the main instructions on how to dismantle and replace the timing chain on the Opel Vivaro 1.6 CDTi. First, lift the vehicle and begin disconnecting the serpentine belt from the pulleys; then remove the crankshaft pulley by unscrewing the central bolt, followed by removing the cylinder head cover and the side cover of the timing system.

At this point, remove the timing chain guides and subsequently the chain (taking necessary references); install the new original chain and reassemble all other components.
