Results of the Moose Test on the Opel Mokka B

This video presents the results of the famous "moose test" (avoidance manoeuvre) of the Opel Mokka B. The speed was 76 km/h, considered very good; body movement was contained and predictable, with slight but noticeable understeer in the second phase of steering; the ESP intervened progressively and non-invasively. At 79 km/h, the rear axle showed slight slipping, which helped close the trajectory without losing control. Despite this, the first attempt failed due to a lack of confidence with the vehicle, confirmed by the fact that the steering wheel does not communicate the grip of the tyres to the driver. Between the cones, the responsiveness to direction changes is good, body roll is contained, and the ESP is noticeable at high speeds, but without being intrusive: the lack of information on tyre grip is confirmed as a defect. Overall judgement is excellent safety, with effective control of body movements and ESP, while weak points include the uninformative feel of the steering wheel, which is common in many compact SUVs.
