Cleaning the MAP (Manifold Absolute Pressure) sensor on the Opel Meriva B can help resolve issues with irregular acceleration or poor power. The sensor is located on the intake manifold: it is a small electronic component screwed directly into the air duct, consisting of a probe that extends inside, just after the throttle.

For safety, it is best to disconnect the battery; this avoids shorts and helps the ECU forget old values once the cleaned sensor is reinstalled. Disconnect the electrical connector, unscrew the fixing screws of the connector, spray the cleaner (like the specific LiquiMoly: available on Amazon with code B00295EEBK for £10.68, free delivery for Prime customers) directly onto the probe, which you should never touch with your fingers.

Allow the product to act, which will then dry in the air. Reinsert the cleaned sensor into its housing, reconnect the connector, screw in the screws, and reconnect the negative battery cable. That's it.
