How to Replace the Key Shell of the Opel Astra J 2009-2016

To replace the key shell of the Opel Astra, first remove the part of the shell where the key battery is located by gently pulling it upwards. Once the relevant part of the shell is removed, take out the key battery using a screwdriver that is not too large. To remove the battery, move the two tabs upwards with the screwdriver. At this point, fully open the shell to remove the circuit inside. To do this, apply pressure outwards on the lower part of the key blade, but be careful not to drop the springs located inside. To remove the circuit from the old shell, simply pull it upwards gently with the screwdriver. Once the circuit is placed in the new shell, replace the key blade by inserting it into the new shell. For this, use a nail to insert into the blade block and a hammer to tap and remove the block. Once the blade blocks are removed, replace the blade by inserting the old one into the block of the new shell, ensuring it is inserted the right way, secure it by tapping twice, and then insert the block. At this point, assemble everything in the new shell, loading the spring of the key blade. Once you have ensured that the key blade is correctly loaded after installing the circuit and the battery, close the shell and the operation will be complete.
