How to Replace the Rear Shock Absorbers on an Opel Vectra C

This guide shows how to replace the rear shock absorbers on an Opel Vectra C. The first step is to lift the vehicle and remove the rear wheels. Using a hydraulic jack, raise the rear suspension assembly. At this point, with a 17 mm spanner, loosen the upper mounting bolt of the shock absorber piston. With a 20 mm spanner, loosen the lower bolt of the piston and remove the old cylinder. Now, compress the new shock absorber a few times and install it in position. Tighten the bolts and reattach the tyre. Lower the vehicle and test it before hitting the road.
