Replacing the External Rear-View Mirror

Has the rear-view mirror of your car broken and you don't know how to repair it? The following guide shows you how. You will see that replacing it is easier than you think. You will need a new mirror and a screwdriver. Once you have purchased the new screwdriver, you can proceed to remove and refit. The procedure is extremely simple: at the centre of any internal rear-view mirror, there is a button that must be pushed upwards; after positioning it, use a screwdriver to turn the fixing screw located between the mirror and the external support. For external mirrors, always use a screwdriver, but not to unscrew: in this case, apply pressure from below on the glass, trying to insert the screwdriver between the glass and the external cover and lever it out.

As shown, the filter is positioned at the lower part of the engine, right between the left half-shaft and the sway bar attachment. To replace the filter, first, go underneath the vehicle, taking all necessary safety precautions. Then, using an 18mm wrench, open the drain valve and allow any water present to escape. Next, unscrew the housing, remove the old filter, insert the replacement along with a new gasket, and reassemble everything.
