How to Replace the Steering Lock on the Opel Meriva

If the ignition key rotation is slightly obstructed and does not engage the steering lock during extraction, it may be necessary to replace the cylinder, known as the ignition switch 'fruit'; to perform this operation, remove the plastic covers that encase the control levers of the indicator stalk to access the ignition switch housing: you will notice a cylindrical plastic block containing the lock, and at the bottom of this is a slot through which you can see the tab that holds the lock in place; insert the ignition key, turn it to the first position to unlock the steering lock, and press the tab to retract it and extract the lock fruit.
