Adjustment of the Handbrake on the Opel Meriva A

Model: Vauxhall Meriva Meriva A, MK 1 - Years 2003-2010

Over time, the metal cable connecting the handbrake lever on the Opel Meriva may loosen, causing the lever to reach its limit without effectively locking the vehicle. Using a screwdriver, remove the panel from the glove compartment beneath the lever and disconnect the gaiter from the lever. After securing the vehicle, lift the rear wheels. Using a 10 mm socket wrench with an extension, tighten the nut to the left of the handbrake lever and check the braking of the rear wheels by spinning them by hand. Proceed by trial and error until you achieve locking with five clicks of the lever.
