The steps illustrated in this guide will show us how to use the automatic transmission of the Peugeot 508, as well as the 308. First of all, we get into the car and start the engine, keeping the brake pedal pressed; the gear lever will be in position P, as shown in the video. At this point, we move the lever to position D if we want to engage the gear, placing the gear in M (moving the lever to the left) if we want to manually change gears; finally, it is possible to place the gear in position N (neutral), perhaps in emergency situations, by engaging the handbrake.
