What’s under the hood of the Peugeot Boxer 2007/2011?

The overview of the engine compartment of the Peugeot Boxer 2.2 HDi is important for basic maintenance orientation. Let's start by opening the hood. The battery is not located under the hood but under a false floor in the cabin area on the left side (in the case of the video, it is a right-hand drive, so on the passenger side). Starting from the left side, we find the windshield washer fluid reservoir, the power steering fluid reservoir, and the brake fluid reservoir. Next to it is the expansion tank for the coolant. Above the engine, in the center, we find the oil filler cap and the dipstick for measuring the oil level, recognizable by a large yellow ring. On the right side of the vehicle, we find the air filter box, the electrical control unit with the fuse and relay box, and under a flap of the cover of this box, we find the convenient positive terminal for connecting a battery charger or voltmeter. The negative terminal can be connected to a metal screw on the chassis. The engine shown is a 2.2 HDi: the oil filter is located at the bottom of the engine block (access from underneath), the diesel filter is in the engine compartment near the windshield, and the timing belt should be replaced every 160,000 km or 10 years.
