Replacing the gear knob on a Peugeot 307 is a straightforward task. Lift the leather gaiter upwards, then remove the plastic collar that secures the gaiter to the lever. Cut the collar if it is worn (or slide it down). Remove the gaiter and the old knob. The knob is usually screwed on or clipped in place. If it is screwed on, turn it counterclockwise to remove it.
