Emergency repair on the gear lever of a Peugeot 206.

While waiting for the new spare part to arrive, let's see how to remedy a gear lever that does not allow us to shift gears: remove the screw located inside the central console, near the lever, then remove the ones on the sides of the side panel. Also remove the plastic cap behind the handbrake, and unscrew the screws inside. Remove the cover in front of the handbrake to remove the screw underneath; remove the handbrake and gear lever boots, then loosen the handbrake adjustment screw, so that you can pull up the lever completely, and remove the central console. Remove the rubber boot from the gear lever, in order to expose the mechanism. For emergency repair, a piece of rigid plastic tubing with a diameter of 17 mm was inserted, tightened with clamps, some grease was applied, and the youtuber used a screwdriver to leverage the linkage onto the pivot of the gear lever. This makeshift repair worked enough to move the car and return home.
