Emergency Repair on the Gear Lever of a Peugeot 206

While waiting for the new replacement part to arrive, remedy a gear lever that won't allow you to shift gears: remove the screw located inside the centre console, near the lever, then remove the screws on the sides of the side panel. Also, take off the plastic cap behind the handbrake, and unscrew the screws inside.

Remove the cover in front of the handbrake to access the screw underneath; take off the gaiter for the handbrake and the gear lever, then loosen the adjustment screw for the handbrake so you can pull the lever up completely, and remove the centre console.

Remove the rubber gaiter from the gear lever to expose the mechanism.

For the emergency repair, insert a piece of 17 mm rigid plastic tube, secured with cable ties, apply some grease, and use a screwdriver to lever the linkage onto the pivot of the gear lever. This makeshift repair worked just enough to move the car and get home.

To remove the rear seat of a Hyundai Tucson, follow these steps. Start by moving the front seats to their most forward position to gain space. Next, locate the release lever on the underside of the rear seat, near the floor. Press this lever down while pulling the seat upwards to unlock it from the anchor pins. Once unlocked, tilt the seat upwards and forwards to remove it from its position. Repeat this process for both sides of the rear seat.
