The front suspension locking system of the Piaggio MP3 is designed to keep the vehicle upright without having to put your feet on the ground when stationary. It is activated via a button on the right side of the handlebar or, on some models, automatically under certain conditions. The operation is based on an electro-hydraulic system that locks the joint of the parallel front wheel scheme: when activated, the lock prevents the two front wheels from oscillating independently, keeping the vehicle balanced. To activate it: press the button with the vehicle moving at low speed (below 12-15 mph) or when stationary, with the engine running and the rear or front brake applied. The system activates only if conditions allow (low speed, brake applied). Once locked, the vehicle remains upright on its own: you can take your hands off the handlebar and place your feet on the footrests. To unlock: press the button again, or accelerate (the lock automatically deactivates when you set off). On some models, the lock disengages automatically when exceeding a certain speed or in an emergency. Note: the lock is not a stand and should not be used on steep inclines; it is only for short stops. If the system does not activate, there may be a problem with sensors, low hydraulic oil pressure, or a flat battery.
