How to Replace the Gear Knob on the Porsche Cayman

Model: Porsche Cayman 987 - Years 2006-2012
Part: Shift knob

First, lift the lower panel. Use a plastic lever to avoid damaging the surrounding trim. Now, lift the centre of the knob with a flathead screwdriver. By rotating the base of the knob, you can detach the protective gaiter by simply pulling upwards on the entire gaiter part, separating the knob from the gaiter. Once you have extracted the old parts, proceed with the replacements you wish to make; you can replace just the knob or the gaiter.
