Replacing the Cabin Heater Radiator

Model: RAM 1500 DR, DH, D1, DC, DM, MK 3 - Years 2002-2009
Part: Heater core

The first symptom related to damage to the cabin heater radiator is fogging of the windshield: fluid leaking from the radiator causes condensation to form. To replace it, you practically need to disassemble the entire dashboard since the radiator is located inside the air duct behind the center console. It is recommended to proceed with this maintenance only if you are comfortable with disassembly operations. Start by removing the various plastic elements that make up the dashboard, beginning with those around the steering column; then remove the column itself and the mounting pins for the dashboard support structure, disconnecting the various wiring connectors. Once the dashboard is removed, disconnect the hoses from the heater radiator, remove the duct, extract the old radiator, and before installing the new one, thoroughly clean and dry the duct. Then proceed in reverse order for reassembly.
