How to replace the tie rod and steering head on the Renault Clio II

In this video, we can see how to replace the tie rods and steering head on a Renault Clio II: we will need to lift the front of the car and remove the wheels to access the steering system, which we see behind the brake disc. We will spray them with WD-40 to facilitate their removal. We will use a 13mm wrench to remove the steering head, but first we will make a mark with a marker between the tie rod and the steering head, to make sure to put them back in the correct position. On the other side, a 17mm wrench will be needed, and a hammer to remove it from its housing: on the other side, the steering head will need to be unscrewed, noting the number of turns required to remove it. A metal ring is attached to the protective boot, which must be cut, and then the boot removed. Here, a tie rod puller would be needed, a tool that can be found for example at Norauto. It costs 11.96 euros, with free in-store pickup. We can replace the part with the help of the same tool, put on the new boot, which we will grease at the end, mount the metal clamping ring, and then take the new steering head, rotating it as many times as we had noted, and aligning it with the mark we had made earlier. We reassemble the steering head on the pin, and tighten the nut with a socket wrench. We can put the wheels back on and lower the car.
