How to Remove the Steering Knuckle on a Renault Clio 3

In this video tutorial, see how to remove the steering knuckle on a Renault Clio 3 by following some simple steps. First, get into the vehicle, turn off the engine, and pull the handbrake. Next, loosen the bolts on the front wheel without removing them completely; use a jack to lift the front of the vehicle and fully unscrew the bolts. The next step is to remove the front wheel to access the steering system; place axle stands under the vehicle for added safety. Once the front wheels are removed, place them under the vehicle. Now you can see the steering knuckle. Use some penetrating fluid as the knuckle may be stuck. Make a mark as you will need it when refitting. Use an adjustable spanner to loosen the retaining nut of the knuckle. Use a 17 mm socket to unscrew the retaining nut of the knuckle. Use a hammer to give a sharp tap on the nut you just positioned on top of the thread. Unscrew the knuckle, being careful of the mark you made earlier and counting the number of turns needed to remove it. Refit the new knuckle by reversing the process (see video).
