In this video we see how the EDC gearbox of Renault cars works: it is a dual-clutch automatic gearbox, available on all models of the group. The dual clutch is oil-bathed and concentric, which means it is a device of reduced weight and volume compared to the past; with this gearbox, comfort is high and the gear shifts are very smooth. It is also possible to set it according to our preferences, as is now normal on new production cars. The driving modes are "eco", "sport", "comfort" and "individual", so that you can have a different response from the entire mechanical and electronic system, according to the needs of the moment. The fuel consumption achieved with this gearbox is very low and with a comfortable driving style. Of course, it is not the gearbox suitable for those looking for sporty performance; for these enthusiasts, a manual gearbox is definitely recommended.
