In this video, we will see how to change a Dayco service belt, which can be found complete with the pulley on eBay with the code 388758211880 for the price of 43.90 euros + 14.90 euros for shipping. It is essential to also have a torque wrench to tighten the tensioner pulleys to the correct torque. With the engine cold, disconnect the battery, lift the car and remove the lower engine protection. Take a photo of the belt immediately to remember how it is arranged, then identify the tensioner pulley, which is a pulley with a central hexagonal pin located between the alternator, the A/C compressor and the engine: insert the wrench and slowly rotate it clockwise. Some models have a hole to insert a locking pin once the tension is released. Remove the belt, clean the pulley grooves from any residue, and pass the new belt following the path from the photo we took earlier. Slowly release the tension on the tensioner, allowing the pulley to tension the belt; check that the belt is perfectly aligned, then reassemble everything and lower the car.
