How to Change the Battery on Renault Clio II

Let's see how to change the battery on the Renault Clio II: open the bonnet. The battery is located on the right side when facing the vehicle from the front. Start by disconnecting the negative terminal and move the cable away to avoid accidental contact. Also disconnect the positive terminal, remove the securing bracket, and extract the old battery (which should be disposed of correctly at an authorised centre). Sand the inside of the terminals with sandpaper to remove the white oxidation layer and protect the terminals with specific grease to improve contact and prevent oxidation. Position the new battery, reconnect the cables starting with the positive terminal, then the negative, and replace the securing plate (using the trick shown in the video: a folded piece of kitchen paper to hold the bolt in place while you insert and start to tighten it. Once tight, the paper can be removed).
