How to Replace the Stabiliser Bar Link on a Renault Clio II

Let's see how to replace the stabiliser bar link on a Renault Clio II: loosen the nuts on the front wheels and then lift the car, supporting it on secure axle stands. Apply some penetrating grease (such as MA professional 20-A102, which can be found on auto-doc.co.uk with code 20-A102 for £4.68 for a 50g tube + £9.95 shipping) on the nuts of the old link: these are often rusted and seized. Disconnect the steering end from the hub to create more space. If the nuts are completely seized, you can cut them with a hacksaw. Slightly lift the wishbone and insert the new link into the stabiliser bar. Insert the upper washer, compressing the central washer with locking pliers, then hand-tighten the nut for the first few turns, tightening it with a spanner afterwards. If you removed it, reattach the steering end, refit the wheels, tighten the nuts, and take a test drive in a quiet area.
