The ABS sensor fault is unfortunately a common issue on the Renault Clio III; the first step is a visual inspection, which can be done without tools. The sensor is inserted into the wheel hub, towards the brake disc.

Check that it is not physically damaged; follow the sensor wires, which are covered by a sheath. Look for frayed, cut wires or oxidised or loose connectors.

The wiring is subject to vibrations, heat, and dirt. The most common intervention is the replacement of the sensor: you can find it on tarostrade.it with EAN code 3801019483344 for £7.39 plus £6.49 shipping.

Lift the car, disconnect the connector, and unscrew the single nut that secures the sensor, which is often stuck due to rust. Clean the seat and install the new sensor, reconnect the connector, remount the wheel, and lower the car.

Where are the fuses located on the Renault Laguna?
