How to Solve the Airbag Light Issue on the Renault Clio II

The airbag light issue on the Clio II is shown in the video, citing two error codes: F071, which indicates a circuit interruption in the passenger side airbag, and F072, which indicates the same problem on the driver side. The first step is always to read the error codes to make a specific diagnosis. The video indicates the known critical points on this model. The main cause is the two rectangular connectors located under the pedals; one for the driver side airbag and one for the passenger side, attached to the structure. Disconnect the battery (to prevent any accidental airbag deployment), then unlock the two connectors, clean them thoroughly with electrical contact spray, and reconnect them. In many cases, this is sufficient to resolve the issue. However, the connectors under the front seats can also be damaged by the constant movement of the seats; with the battery still disconnected, unlock the yellow tab of the connector and clean the terminals with spray. Also, check that the wires are intact. Reconnect them, ensuring that the wires do not get caught in the seat. Check the ribbon cable connecting the steering wheel airbags to the vehicle, which can wear out with steering movements. Symptoms include the airbag light being on and the horn not working. The only solution here is replacement, and as it is a delicate component, it is advisable to have it done by a workshop.
