Video tutorial

To replace the starter motor on a Renault Modus, work with the engine cold and first disconnect the negative terminal of the battery for safety. Locate the starter motor, situated near the gearbox, at the bottom of the engine.

If necessary, raise the vehicle for more working space. Disconnect the electrical cables attached to the motor by unscrewing the terminal nuts.

Locate and unscrew the bolts that secure it to the engine block. Once removed, pull the starter motor outwards.

Place the new starter motor in the same position and secure it with the bolts. Reconnect the electrical cables, reattach the negative terminal of the battery, and check the engine starts.

The solution is to check the throttle body, which helps send fuel to accelerate the vehicle; it was indeed damaged, and once replaced, the error code is cleared, allowing the vehicle to accelerate normally again.
