Replacing the Timing Belt on Renault Megane

Replacing the timing belt on a Renault Megane, here’s how to do it. Lift the car on a column lift, remove the front wheel and the right wheel arch liner. Once these operations are completed, remove the timing belt cover panel (remove the sensor). Using a spanner, loosen the second tensioner and slide the belt off its seat. After fitting the new belt, use a fixed spanner to install the tensioner roller, tension it until the correct belt tension is achieved (fit both belts). Finally, check the tensioner and the belt itself, tighten everything with a socket wrench. Close the bonnet and test the vehicle.
