How to remove the gear knob on the Megane? Here’s how to replace the knob on the central tunnel. Detach the gaiter from under the knob, take the knob in your hands and rotate it left and right until you remove it from the gear stick. Use a plastic lever to detach the leather gaiter frame (if it needs replacing). Fit the new leather gaiter with the clips (if previously removed), then take the new knob and slide it onto the stick on the central tunnel, tightening the new knob until it is fully seated. Finally, test the new knob on the central tunnel.
