Filling the Windscreen Washer Reservoir

The windscreen washer reservoir is located in the engine bay, just below the windscreen, behind the battery; before discussing what to fill the reservoir with, note that the earth cable passing to the battery terminal could break due to friction: position it to avoid this. The choice of washer fluid is often seen as trivial, and many simply fill it with water: this solution, over time, can clog the nozzles due to limescale and does not provide any cleaning effect; therefore, it is advisable to use the appropriate fluid (available in ready-to-use or concentrated form to dilute) and avoid mixtures containing alcohol or dish soap.
