Bleeding Air from the Fuel Supply System

If the vehicle has run out of fuel or when replacing the diesel filter, air may form in the fuel supply system, making subsequent starting difficult; therefore, after filling the fuel tank or replacing the filter, it is advisable to bleed the system: simply open the bleed valve and manually pump the primer bulb located near the diesel filter to expel the air; when the fuel flow from the bleed valve is steady, close the valve and continue pumping until the bulb offers the correct resistance; only after this operation, start the engine.

You will find various wiring and a metal piece with screws; unscrew the securing screws of the metal cap and remove it.
