Place the gear lever in first gear, release the handbrake, and lift the rear wheel; then check that with the handbrake released, the wheel spins freely; repeat the same check by pulling the handbrake one click; pull again for one more click and you will notice that the wheel no longer spins freely; at the third click, the wheel is practically locked; at this point, repeat the same check on the other wheel ensuring it behaves the same way in the three positions of the handbrake lever (free at the first click, braking at the second, and locked at the third).

How to Activate the Disabled TRC on the Toyota Yaris?

As the video clearly shows, disabling or activating the traction control (TRC or ESP) on the Toyota Yaris is very simple. By default, the traction system activates every time the vehicle is started. To disable it, simply press the button depicting a skidding car located in the centre of the vehicle where the controls are, such as the hazard lights and the radio, but near the handbrake. Once disabled, the TRC off light will illuminate on the dashboard. To reactivate it, just press the same button again.
