This article explains how to adjust the handbrake travel on the Renault Clio 2, a necessary procedure to ensure the handbrake is always effective and functions correctly. To adjust the handbrake, you will need a Torx key size 10 and one size 15/20. Get into the back seats of the car; at the end of the centre tunnel, you will find two Torx screws that need to be unscrewed. Once the two screws are removed, take off the cover, then lift the rear cover of the handbrake to access the handbrake cable. At this point, at the front, you will find the bolt, which needs to be tightened with the appropriate Torx key to bring the cable to the correct tension level; once at the correct level, replace the covers and screw them back in.
